For more than thirty years, Cimetrics has been a pioneer in networking technologies for the Building Automation industry. When the BACnet standard was first published in 1995, Cimetrics was among its earliest champions. In 1996, Cimetrics introduced the first commercial BACnet stack, enabling manufacturers to rapidly implement BACnet in their products. We founded the BACnet Manufacturers Association (now BACnet International) and launched the BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL): both cornerstones of BACnet adoption and interoperability worldwide. From 2009 through 2019, Cimetrics chaired the BACnet IT Working Group, leading the development of BACnet/SC (BACnet Secure Connect). This work was adopted into the 2020 BACnet Standard, establishing the foundation for secure, encrypted communication in modern BAS networks.
