Cimetrics at AHR 2022 Las Vegas

At the AHR Expo 2022 in Las Vegas, Cimetrics will continue its mission to be the industry’s leading provider of cybersecurity technologies, products, and expertise for building automation systems and BACnet. Cimetrics focuses on being the cybersecurity problem-solvers for system installers, OEM vendors, and IT departments looking to secure BACnet networks.

Since the introduction of the Secured by Cimetrics consensus-building initiative at the last AHR Expo in 2020, Cimetrics has engaged with leading OEM vendors to define the future framework of interoperable and secure BACnet systems. This work coalesced into the Managed BACnet program and was subsequently adopted by BACnet International as a formal initiative to advance the adoption of interoperable cybersecurity in BACnet systems.

Cimetrics will unveil its new line of Secured by Cimetrics products, including the SbC Appliance, an intelligent management hub for Managed BACnet systems, and the SbC Routing Firewall, a secure way to migrate BACnet/IP and MS/TP networks into the secure system abiding by the principles of the Managed BACnet program.

Cimetrics CEO Jim Lee will continue to provide thought leadership at AHR as part of the BACnet International education session on Monday, January 31, where he will introduce the Managed BACnet program. He will also participate in a Monday session introducing the educational initiative for industry stakeholders known as the Coalition for Smarter Buildings.

In-office air quality monitors and the future of office work

Harvard professor Joseph Allen says there’s one safety measure offices can’t overlook. Healthy workspaces rely primarily on the air employees breathe, and research going back years before the pandemic shows that improvements in air ventilation and air quality lead to increased cognitive function and work productivity.

One study conducted by Allen’s Healthy Buildings program at Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health found there is no threshold for how greater air ventilation positively impacts cognitive function for workers. Read more
